“Take the Sun”

Gazing out the window
Staring at the world
Through the fog I see some lights
Is this a sign of hope?
I would have thought by now
I’d be somewhere else
I guess that dreams don’t turn to gold right away

Peering through the tree tops
Towering the homes
Sunlight pierces through the grey
The clouds break into blue skies
Dreaming of the future
Hoping to have you near
For now I’ll take the sun

I cannot wait for you anymore
Even when surrounded by the trees
Scorched and blinded by the sun
But it’s all I have left to remember you by

Gaping at the mountains
Fearing the unknown
Over hills I see a town
Is this my final home?
Dreaming of the future
Hoping to have you near
For now I’ll take the sun
